Ryan Dungey returns to the AMA SX in Seattle today after his injury
Rider Ryan Dungey will return to AMA Supercross action in Seattle, so today we will have him back on track after six weeks out of action due to injury.
The Red Bull KTM AMA Supercross team announced yesterday great news for SX fans, as they have confirmed the return to competition of Ryan Dungey after several races out due to a collarbone fracture. At last we will see the 5 in action again at the Seattle round being held today.
Although Dungey has not been sitting idle during these six weeks in which he could not compete in SX, he has been training in the world of Motocross, and little by little he has been raising the intensity, gaining confidence and improving. This has led him to make the big decision together with his team and the doctors: the time has come to once again challenge the champion, Villopoto.
The injury suffered by the KTM rider was unfortunate, as Chad Reed and then James Stewart were also out of action, so there was none of the favorites left to stop the Kawasaki champion, Ryan Villopoto, who has managed to retain his 2011 crown, being crowned the best again in 2012 and after 9 wins, so truly a champion. But we’ll see what happens today with Dungey back home.
We also don’t know Dungey’s real condition. He is probably not at 100% of his physical fitness, so he won’t look to take risks, but rather get back into the rhythm and pace of competition. Without a doubt, six weeks away from the show will be noticeable for the KTM rider, but he will surely soon be able to be at the front, battling with the strong riders such as Villopoto.
Today will be a great day in Seattle, can’t wait for some SX.
