The Moto3 World Championship held the first race of the day at the Motorland Aragón Circuit with Álex Rins as the winner, after plenty of action and many riders giving their all in every corner; as always, the little class has delivered pure spectacle at home.

The start was very good for Rins, who kept his first position, pulling the whole group along to break it up so the victory would be decided among fewer riders, leading to a group of four riders pulling away from the rest, and then we saw Rins, Márquez and Viñales go off on their own in these first laps.

In these first laps we saw the three Spaniards open a gap on the rest, leave Oettl behind and, without pushing too hard, burn off laps. The three know each other perfectly and understand that what matters is fighting for the win in the final laps. Meanwhile, Salom did not have an easy start, with a very intense battle in the second group of riders.

So, step by step and with some changes of position within the trio, but without pushing too hard and while opening a gap on the chasing group. For his part, Salom kept passing riders until he reached fourth place, but the leading trio was far ahead, although the 39 was locked in a maximum-effort battle with his closest rivals, Oliveira and Oettl.

For his part at the front, Rins and Viñales managed to leave Márquez behind, leaving the fight for the win between two of the title favourites. The win was decided on the last lap: Mack entered the final lap first, but Rins overtook him at the end of the home straight. In the final stretch of the track, Mack’s bike had a problem, specifically the gear would not engage and he was left half-stopped, which allowed Rins to take his new victory at his home circuit, his fifth win, which puts him 2nd in the World Championship, just 9 points behind leader Luis Salom.

Meanwhile, Salom finished fourth on a complicated day, but still achieved a good result given how the event started, and he keeps the category lead, although with his pursuers closer. The top 10 was completed by Márquez 3rd, Salom 4th, Oliveira 5th, Oettl 6th, Folger 7th, Fenati 8th, Sissis 9th and Vázquez 10th. The rest of our riders finished Vázquez 10th, I. Viñales 18th, Carrasco 20th, Guevara 28th and Herrera 29th. There were several crashes: Herrera, Alt, Techer, Kornfeil, Finstersbusch, Ferrari, Khairuddin and Kornfeil.

In short, maximum excitement in the World Championship with our three riders close together on points, Salom, Rins and Viñales all out to win on the Asian tour.

A maximum race at Motorland Aragón.
