Rider Carlos Checa's challenge to Plus Moto
Rider Carlos Checa has given me a challenge, since a few days ago he was the star of the Plusmotera Photo with a spectacular image of his Ducati on the kerbs of a circuit. I thought the track was Assen, but no, he himself confirmed to me that it is not the Dutch circuit.
So since he told me it wasn’t Assen, I have been searching for the circuit in question, and I have also deduced that it is not from this season because of the suit the Catalan is wearing, as it is not the same as the one from 2011.
Therefore, we are talking about a circuit where the World Superbike Championship held a round in 2010, and where the entry to the finish straight has a right-hand corner, which is taken very tightly to the kerb, and riders even run over them.
Furthermore, the finish line must be very close to that corner exit, because the timing board can be seen quite close by.
Right now I’m down to 3 circuits: Imola, Nürburgring and Portimão, but I’m sure I haven’t looked carefully enough, and it would be more helpful than my Plus Moteros.
Can you help me discover which circuit it is?
We’ll keep an eye out for Carlos Checa.
