Remy Gardner takes pole position for the Moto2 World Championship in Austria
Remy Gardner has taken pole position for the Moto2 World Championship at the Austrian Circuit, with Martín 2nd and Schrotter 3rd

The Moto2 World Championship was the last to head out onto the Austrian Circuit to fight for pole position, so there was great anticipation in the intermediate class on the Spielberg track, and without a doubt plenty of action among the participants.
The riders who had not set the best lap times went out first, and they had to get through Q1 to secure one of the four spots to advance to Q2 and fight for the more forward positions on the grid. In this Q1, we saw plenty of movement at the front, but in the end, it was Schrotter, Roberts, Bulega and Baldassarro who earned the advance.
Then came the moment of truth, Q2, in which we had technical problems and it was delayed. After 15 minutes of waiting, the action could resume, and we saw plenty of movement at the front, but Remy Gardner was the dominant rider in the final minutes of the official practice session, followed by Jorge Martín.
In the end, Gardner managed to consolidate his lap time and secure pole position in Austria, setting a time of 1:28.681, while Martín finished just 0.036s behind the leader. Completing the top 10 were Schrotter 3rd, Bastianini 4th, Canet 5th, Lowes 6th, Navarro 7th, Marini 8th, Luthi 9th and Bezzecchi 10th.
On to the race.
