Press presentation of FMX Masters Barcelona

The Gran Hotel Havana in Barcelona hosted the press conference presenting the Freestyle MX Masters fuelled by Monster Energy in Barcelona.

The organisers have revealed to the specialist press, sponsors and invited riders the new features that the event will offer next Sunday from 6 pm at the Palau Sant Jordi. As the president of RPM Racing, Jaime Alguersuari, wanted to highlight, it will be the most monstrous edition:

The history of the Barcelona Freestyle goes back 22 years, when we shared the bill with Supercross.

If the Monster brand has come on board to sponsor the event this year, I can assure you that next Sunday, with riders like Edgar Torronteras and José Miralles, we are in for a spectacularly monstrous afternoon.

For his part, the sporting director of the event, Jordi Castells, has highlighted the high level of the participants:

The list of riders taking part this year is impressive. It is one of the best that will be seen in Europe this season. On the same day we will have the 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed riders from the X-Games, Adam Jones, Dany Torres (who also won the X-Fighters) and Taka Higashino.

In addition, we must highlight Tom Pagès, last year’s winner of the Best Jump at the Sant Jordi, who became one of the great protagonists driving the crowd wild at the 2010 event with his brutal Volt.

The return of a rider as beloved in Barcelona as Edgar Torronteras, who once again does not want to miss this great event, has shown his joy at returning to take part in the event where he made his debut at just 9 years old.

Talking about the Barcelona Freestyle means talking about my beginnings on this stage, the Palau Sant Jordi, when I started in Supercross at just 9 years old. It is a unique stage, it is my home.

Coming back here for this edition, the best in its history due to the exceptional level of the riders taking part, will make my return even more exciting.

And we cannot forget José Miralles “Loco”, who comes well prepared and convinced of finishing the great night on the podium. He closed the act by saying that he is currently fighting to regain his world Freestyle title, and praised the high level of knowledge of the Sant Jordi audience.

The audience that will come to watch us on Sunday is one of the most knowledgeable: if you do it well, they will respond, but if you don’t have a good day, they will punish you.

I arrive at the Barcelona date at a good level, after the whole season spent doing other events.
