The Moto2 World Championship has been the next to hit the Phillip Island track for the Australian round, in which Redding’s injury absence leaves everything in the hands of Pol Espargaró and Tito Rabat. Undoubtedly, our riders are ready to give it all.

Pol Espargaró’s start was very good, the 40 took off like a shot, didn’t hesitate at all and set a strong pace in a race of just 13 laps. Meanwhile, Tito Rabat lost some strength and positions, but the 80 has always been a rider who comes on strong later in races, although in this case it is a very short race.

Despite Espargaró’s great start, he couldn’t break away from the group. De Angelis didn’t lose his wheel; it is a complicated circuit for opening up gaps, while Rabat didn’t lose touch with the two leaders. Undoubtedly, the final laps promise to be very intense. We’ll see if Tito can push harder, but with 9 laps to go he made a mistake and went onto the grass, losing many positions.

With 7 laps remaining, we saw Luthi and De Angelis start fighting to go after Pol, but this battle allowed Polyccio to gain important metres on the chasing group, while Tito came with Nico, going all out to join the leading riders. But Luthi was very strong today, and managed to close the gap with Espargaró, so maximum intensity in the leading group.

In the end Espargaró pulled out the extra he had been saving and was able to maintain a sufficient gap to take victory at the Australian track, his fifth of the season, which puts him at the top of the Moto2 World Championship with 16 points over Redding.

The top 10 of the race was Luthi 2nd, Torres 3rd, Corsi 4th, De Angelis 5th, Aegerter 6th, Kallio 7th, Rabat 8th, Terol 9th and 10th West. The rest of our riders finished Cardús 12th and Pons 24th.

Short but intense race with Pol leading and a superb ride from Jordi, which he dedicates to his grandmother.
