Pol and Aleix Espargaró honored in Granollers
Riders Aleix Espargaró and Pol Espargaró were yesterday given a well-deserved tribute in their hometown of Granollers, where the Mayor and local authorities welcomed them and presented them with a gift to commemorate the 2012 World Motorcycle Racing season, and set them plenty of homework for 2013.

The riders Aleix Espargaró and Pol Espargaró had a wonderful day yesterday in their hometown of Granollers, where they were honored by the local authorities, receiving a lovely keepsake of a special 2012 season and with great promise for 2013.
Without a doubt it was an exciting afternoon-evening for them, for their Espargarins, their family and the authorities, who always feel represented by these two charming and very special brothers, undoubtedly two heavyweights of the World Motorcycle Championship in their respective categories, with much still to do in a coming season that promises to be highly entertaining and hard-fought.
The tribute began with words from the Granollers authorities, who, as always, had words of praise for these two very young riders who carry the name of their city around the world. Once again, displays of affection and a lovely memento: a photograph of the “Porxada”, one of the most iconic spots in this Catalan city.
After receiving this gift, the two brothers spoke to the attendees and also to the authorities, thanking them for the affection shown over all these years and expressing great expectations and effort for the 2013 season. There was also homework for Aleix and Pol: having to step out onto the balcony of the Town Hall to celebrate a world title. So they must prepare to the maximum for what lies ahead next season. Yesterday, however, they had nothing to be ashamed of, as they celebrated a Moto2 runner-up finish and a MotoGP CRT championship title.
An afternoon of memories, looking forward to returning with much more, and for many years to come.
