Photos from the private Moto2, Ducati and CRT test at Jerez

The Ducati, Moto2 and some CRT test at the Jerez circuit has been taking place since this morning and will last until Friday. We are waiting for information coming from the track, although it is a private test so it will be difficult.

Today tests are being held at the Jerez circuit, specifically with several teams from the Moto2 category, some MotoGP CRT bikes and the Ducatis. The unfortunate part is that it has been confirmed that they are private, so nothing public and little information on lap times.

The positive side is that after days of rain and bad weather, the Andalusian circuit has finally woken up on a sunny day, in perfect conditions to get out on track. So from 10AM and, in principle, until 5PM, we have plenty of action at Jerez.

One of the great moments was when Carlos Checa got on the Ducati GP12. Without a doubt, the Catalan will be able to give his feedback to the experts of the red bullets. He knows what it is like to ride a Ducati and he knows what it is like to win with them, so the technicians will surely be paying close attention to his comments, as well as to those of Battaini, the brand’s official test rider.

Several Moto2 riders are also on track, such as Pol Espargaró, Tito Rabat and Axel Pons, all of them on the Pons HP40, who are making the most of this start of testing to keep working and adapting to the 2012 machine. On track there are also Alex De Angelis and Yuki Takahashi for the Mobile NGM Forward Racing team; Scott Redding, who crashed this morning, and Mika Kallio for the Marc VDS Racing Team; Bradley Smith for Tech3; Gino Rea for the Gresini Team and, as it could not be otherwise, our 125cc world champion, Nico Terol, and his teammate Toni Elías for the Team Aspar.

Also on track are the CRT BMW Suter of Colin Edwards and the Kawasaki FTR from BQR with Yonny Hernández, two machines that have to evolve a lot towards 2012, so there is work to do. In addition, there are the BMW of Leon Haslam and Marco Melandri, who are at the Andalusian track testing to prepare the 2012 Superbikes.

As for the lap times, we will see if we learn anything by the end of the day, but since they are private it may be that we have no record of times, so we will have to wait and report drop by drop with whatever comes in.

From here, thanks to the people at the circuit who are keeping everyone informed, especially @diegosilvente and @xavi_Racing2, who have also taken much of the photos you can see in the gallery.
