Pecco Bagnaia gets injured at Jerez and is ruled out for Qatar
Team Italia rider Pecco Bagnaia suffered a nasty crash during the third day of training for the Moto3 World Championship at the Jerez Circuit, fracturing the radius of his left arm, which will keep him out of the first race in Qatar.
Team Italia rider Pecco Bagnaia had little luck in this Moto3 World Championship test at the Jerez Circuit, as the young Italian was injured and will not be able to take part in the season opener at the Qatar Circuit on April 7.
So the third day of training left us with a casualty ahead of the season’s first world championship round, a pity about that crash at the Ducados corner, a real shame for the rider who last season was one of the stars of the Spanish Speed Championship. Specifically, he suffered a fracture of the radius of his left arm.
The crash was really nasty, an unfortunate highside that ended with the Italian rider’s wrist hitting the fairing of his own bike, his FTR, and that contact resulted in the fracture in that complicated area of the left arm.
In principle, the injury can be treated without surgery, although he will have to wear a cast for quite some time, which will keep him out of his official World Championship debut at the Qatar round. But the young Italian rider will surely be prepared, ready and eager for the next event at the new Circuit of the Americas in Austin on April 21.
All the recovery will take place in Italy, and the rider would in principle already be there to attend check-ups with his trusted doctors, so they can plan the best path to recover from this last-minute injury.
Get well soon, Pecco.
