Rider Pau Magrià wins in Requena in the second round of the RFME Trofeo Nacional de Motocross MX50, so the youngest riders in Spanish motocross gathered this past Sunday in Requena to compete in the second round of 2014. A great track at Park Off Road Requena, and they put on a great performance.
This round also counted toward the Valencian Community regional championship, so there was a great atmosphere and very exciting heats among the youngest riders in the discipline. In the timed practice sessions, Víctor Puig, who arrived as overall leader, Pau Magrià and Alejandro Pérez were the fastest.
In the first heat, Alejandro got off the line like a bullet and led the opening lap, but was passed by Víctor, who held that position until the checkered flag. Pau, who had a poor start, worked his way past the riders ahead of him until he was second. Alejandro settled for third. In the second heat, Víctor led the group for almost every lap, but in the final stretch Pau passed him and took the win. Puig finished second, and Alejandro Pérez repeated as third.
The riders behind the leaders also had their own battles to gain positions, and there were some spectacular overtakes among the nearly 30 participants. The younger riders are coming on strong and showing they are ready to make a lot of noise and put on a show at any moment.
With the combined results of both races, Pau Magrià finished first in Requena, Víctor Puig second, and Alejandro Pérez third.
Now the riders of the RFME Trofeo Nacional de Motocross MX50 will rest until September, when they will contest the third and final round of the current season. It will be on September 7 in Benicarló, Castellón, alongside MXSub18, MX125 and MXFemenino.
