The Junior Moto3 Mundialito and the Moto2 and Superbike European Championships have contested the races of the fifth round of the 2016 season at the Albacete Circuit, where we have seen all the categories race once and SBK race twice.
The Moto3 race has been exciting, with Lorenzo Dalla Porta being the great final winner. Without a doubt the Italian has dominated the event, from the official practice sessions through to the race, although it has not been easy for him: he took the victory by just 0.088s. In second position we saw Marcos Ramírez, who stuck close to the leader. Meanwhile, the top 10 was completed by Toba in 3rd, Fernández 4th, Hanika 5th, Manzi 6th, Arenas 7th, Masaki 8th, Sasaki 9th and Arbolino 10th.
Meanwhile, in the Moto2 race we saw Steven Odendaal as the great dominator. He took the victory by a wide margin and was the best on track. This time he managed to leave his closest rival more than 2.791s behind. Nagashima therefore finished well behind the leader, but secured a new podium, followed by Techer. Completing the top 10 were Granado 4th, Lecuona 5th, Ekky 6th, Bertin 7th, Yamada 8th, Rosli 9th and Cardelus 10th.
And for its part, Superbike was the category that contested two races at this round in Albacete. In the first race we saw Scheib take the victory, dominating and crossing the line more than seven seconds ahead of the second-placed rider, Carmelo Morales. The top 10 was completed by Delhalle 3rd, Medina 4th, Texier 5th, Makinen 6th, Kuparinen 7th, Cotton 8th, Blazquez 9th and Magalhaes 10th.
In the second race, the winner was Carmelo Morales, who took the win ahead of Delhalle, who finished more than 9 seconds behind. When Morales and Scheib were leading, the rider of BMW crashed, handing Morales the win on a plate, and he once again takes the lead of the category. In the race’s top 10 were Medina 3rd, Texier 4th, Pierluigi 5th, Kuparinen 6th, Makinen 7th, Magalhaes 8th, Scheib 9th and Llano 10th.
Next up, the Algarve round.
