Nico Terol takes one more step forward in Motegi

Motegi will once again be a focus of attention in the motorcycle world, as Nico Terol fights to consolidate his position and remain the leader of the 125cc category.

The first race of the Asian leg of MotoGP is here, with only a few races left to go and Nico is in the lead in the hunt for the title. His secret is not to think about it that way, but to see it as a fight for each individual race, since winning is what he does best.

Nico has had three races with outstanding results, his team is working perfectly and they believe that in Motegi this streak will continue.

We will have to keep in mind the problems that have affected him in several races, and we hope they do not happen again, but if they do occur, let’s hope he has the luck to have them during practice or qualifying.

We will also see his teammates there, Héctor Faubel, who suffered an accident at Motorland while managing the last lap and tried to overtake Zarco for second position, which resulted in a cervical injury. After a week of rest, he is now feeling very good for Motegi.

Adrián Martín has broken his bad run with a ninth-place finish, which he enjoyed greatly, and he hopes to improve on it at the Japanese circuit.

I have had three fantastic grands prix. Both the team and I are doing an incredible job all year, and fortunately in the last races the results have been outstanding. I am going to arrive in Japan at full throttle§h15=, the system of focusing all our strength on each grand prix and each session is working very well for us. The people around us are already starting to speculate, but I am totally focused and thinking only about the work for each race.

In Motegi last year I rode at a great pace§h17=, I finished second, my first podium there. The goal this year is to fight to win; I don’t want to relax for a second, because there are still many points at stake. Motegi is a circuit where you have to brake the bike hard and accelerate fully out of every corner. There, more than at any other circuit, it is very important to work on race pace and to get the bike to have strong acceleration, and I personally am good at that. We are on a good path, we have to keep working the same way, without making big changes to the bike, and with the same ambition.

Héctor Faubel (#55)

At the last grand prix I was left with a bittersweet feeling. On the one hand I saw the podium very closely and I think I was very competitive, but on the other hand I crashed and got injured. Last week I stayed home resting and seeing the physiotherapist to recover as quickly as possible. This week I feel better§h23=, my neck barely hurts, and I am happy because I will arrive in Japan in pretty good shape.

I still don’t know how I will respond on the bike, but my intentions are the same: to keep working to stay among the best, and to confirm the improvement in our performance that we have been experiencing since the last races. The prospects are good, and I simply love the Motegi Circuit§h25=, if my neck doesn’t bother me too much I think I can be at a high level.

Last year at Motegi things went very well for me§h32=, and I achieved a great result. After the race in Alcañiz, which went really well, I am heading to Japan very motivated. The work line from the last event was excellent, and I am only thinking about continuing the same way. I am convinced that if we keep working, things will go our way. I think the key is to stay calm, even in difficult moments.

The result in Aragon has helped me regain my confidence after several crashes, and although in the last race I was a bit cautious, next weekend I will go out again to give it everything. Motegi is the first non-European circuit where I competed, and I have very good memories of it.
