Marco Bezzecchi takes Moto2 pole at the GP Andalucía in Jerez
Marco Bezzecchi takes Moto2 pole at the Gran Premio Andalucía, at the Jerez Circuit

The Moto2 World Championship was the last to hit the Jerez Circuit to fight for pole position at the Andalucía Grand Prix, so there was great anticipation on the Andalusian track to see the intermediate class in this third round of the year.
The first riders went out to battle for the four spots that give access to Q2, with Bastianini taking the lead and dominating, while Nagashima crashed and had to be taken to the medical centre. The best in this session were Bastianini, Vierge, Corsi and Schrotter.
And then came the moment of truth, Q2, to find out who would be the poleman of the class and the starting grid. In the first few minutes we saw Luca Marini at the top, but with many rivals closing in on his times, among them Marco Bezzecchi, who with 8 minutes to go moved into P1.
Finally, Bezzecchi managed to hold on to his time, earning pole with a lap of 1:41.728, securing his first pole in the intermediate class. Second place went to Lowes, who finished 0.037s behind the leader, with Bastianini third, also very close on the times. The top 10 was completed by Navarro 4th, Marini 5th, Martin 6th, Canet 7th, Bulega 8th, Luthi 9th and Schrotter 10th.
On to the race.
