Marc Márquez: "We must be consistent and, above all, not lose our heads"
The rider Marc Márquez wrote yesterday on his personal Repsol.com blog, in which he talks about his next target, the German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring circuit.
I can’t wait for the weekend to arrive so I can get back on the bike and race at Sachsenring.
The truth is that a break like this has come at a good time, with a race calendar as packed as ours.
But as always, when there are no races, all you think about is being back on track.
As you’ve already seen, the young Catalan is eager to get on his 93 for the Team CatalunyaCaixa Repsol and give it his all in the Moto2 category at the German track. Without a doubt, the 125cc world champion is the rider arriving in the best form after two consecutive victories, although he is heading into Stefan Bradl’s territory, so it will be difficult to beat the German on his home ground.
Over these days he has kept up his preparation, since it is essential to reach 100% of physical condition, and he has also reflected on the eight World Championship rounds already held.
I have used these days to continue my physical preparation and, above all, to reflect with the team on the work we have done so far in the championship.
Our recent results have been very positive, but we are well aware that none of this would have been possible without the enormous effort everyone is putting in to be competitive.
Although everyone has made him a clear favorite for the title, Márquez downplays the matter and says that right now he can only focus on race by race, nothing beyond that.
To keep up this pace we know we cannot lower our intensity. We must be consistent and, above all, not lose our heads by looking beyond the next race.
I still have a lot to learn in this first season, and to do that I have to keep covering kilometers. And of course, if we can fight for the victory, we will do so without any doubt.
Márquez also used these days off to go and see his younger brother at the Albacete circuit, where the fourth round of the 2011 CEV was held. Álex also got the victory, so it was a joy for the whole family.
Besides continuing with my physical preparation, these days I took the opportunity to disconnect with friends and family. I once again enjoyed a lot racing alongside my brother Álex in the CEV (Spanish Speed Championship). He got another victory in Albacete, and the truth is he is doing an incredible job with the team.
Congratulations Álex!
Now it’s time for Sachsenring.
