Marc Márquez travels to Indy "with his suitcase full of hope"
Rider Marc Márquez has written today on his personal Repsol.com blog, the Moto2 rider is ready to face a new event at the Indianapolis circuit.
It’s Monday and this week brings a special Grand Prix: we’re heading to the United States for the Indianapolis event. This time we travel on Tuesday, although there isn’t a big time difference, so we can acclimatize quickly and avoid suffering too much from “jet lag” and be able to face the calm practice sessions.
Without a doubt, the event at the Indy track is special for the Moto2 and 125cc categories, since it is not the only race where they travel to the USA during the entire season, so it is interesting to experience the American atmosphere.
The team and I are travelling to the United States with our suitcases full of hope. Indianapolis is a circuit that brings me both good and bad memories: last year I rode very fast, took pole and started first in the race, but a crash prevented me from fighting for the victory. However, fortunately, I managed to recover and in the end I scored some important points for the championship.
This is a beautiful event that I really like. It is a special circuit, where as you leave the turns and approach the main straight you are surrounded by a stadium-style grandstand. This year, moreover, they have resurfaced the turns section, which will be a great advantage since last year it was quite bumpy.
The majority of riders will soon travel to the United States to acclimatize better, and avoid so much jet lag, so the Moto2 rider won’t be long in grabbing his bags, and afterwards he will go directly to San Marino, where the next round of the Motorcycle World Championship will take place.
As I’ve told you, this week we travel on Tuesday to acclimatize to the jet lag. After the Grand Prix we will travel directly to San Marino without passing through Spain, since we have two races in a row. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
