Marc Márquez takes Moto2 pole position at Sachsenring
The rider Marc Márquez is the Moto2 category poleman at the German Grand Prix. The Catalan has been the fastest in the official practice sessions and has once again flown around the Sachsenring circuit, just as he did in 2010 when he took pole position in the 125cc class.
Tomorrow he is undoubtedly one of the favourites, although the Moto2 World Championship leader will not make it easy for him: Stefan Bradl is racing at home and will not let anyone steal the victory on his track.
The German had to settle for second place after failing to beat the time set by Márquez, so he has had to accept second place and prepare for a tough race, since the gaps to the rest of the field are minimal.
Completing the front-row trio on the grid is Aleix Espargaró, the Catalan is in good shape and eager, and he has been showing it in the other practice sessions and also in the official one, where he was in first position for many laps before finishing in third place, a very good result ahead of tomorrow’s start at Sachsenring.
The big surprise of the day, because he keeps amazing everyone, is Julián Simón: the injured rider finished fifth, leaving everyone speechless. He has really come back with great strength and enormous motivation, although tomorrow it will be hard to endure the entire race.
But finishing fifth is surprising, and tomorrow he could pull off a surprise if he is in good condition, so good luck to our Julito.
The complete top 10 is Alex De Angelis in sixth, Xavier Simeon seventh, Mika Kallio eighth, Bradley Smith ninth and Yonny Hernández tenth.
The rest of the Spanish riders finished in 14th Pol Espargaró, 16th Jordi Torres, 18th Tito Rabat, 19th Axel Pons, 24th Ricky Cardús and 26th Kenny Noyes.
Tomorrow we are in for an exciting race, with a great Márquez on pole; a Bradl racing at home; an A. Espargaró who gets stronger every day; and the rest of the riders who were so close to the leaders.
A great race for Moto2.
