Marc Márquez takes advantage of his Moto2 test in Portimão
Rider Marc Márquez wrote yesterday on his personal blog about his training in Portimão, the CEV and a few other things.
Rider Marc Márquez wrote yesterday on his personal blog after several days of testing and work at the Portimão circuit. The Portuguese track has been the setting for this fine-tuning during the summer break of the Moto2 World Championship.
A total of two full days completed, plus the day of work that remains for today, trying to improve the Suter and testing things to solve the problems seen in the last few races. So the 93 does not stop for a second and keeps improving his machine to keep fighting for the title in the intermediate class.
I’m writing to you from Portimão. In total, three days of work that I hope will help us focus well on what remains of the season. Today we had the second test, and tomorrow we finish.
We are working hard on the fine-tuning, always thinking about what lies ahead, in the second half of the season.
Márquez was surprised by the circuit. He said he liked it and found it very fun to ride, but at the same time different from the official World Championship tracks.
Portimão is a very different circuit from those of the World Championship. It surprised us a lot, and it’s fun to ride here.
After these days of work, the Catalan will take a short holiday to prepare for the next round at the Indianapolis circuit. So now it’s time to relax a little and enjoy every moment at home.
When we finish tomorrow, we’ll have a few days of rest, which will also be good for us before traveling to the United States, because we’ll have two Grand Prix in a row, first in Indianapolis and then in Brno.
As it could not be otherwise, he is very happy with the result of his brother Álex in the CEV Albacete, since he achieved a hard-fought victory. The shame is that the 93 could not watch the race as he was in Portugal, but he is very happy both for this victory and for his brother’s signing as a permanent fixture in the world championship.
I couldn’t watch the CEV race on Sunday, because here in Portugal there was no way to see it. But I’ve already been told that my brother Alex put on a great race. He had some problems on Saturday but despite that on Sunday he managed to win, congratulations! A great result, and from Indianapolis onwards we’ll have him in the World Championship. I’m very happy for him!
To close his blog with this lovely reminder:
Before I say goodbye, I want to send a message of encouragement to the people suffering from the fires in Spain, especially those of these last few days in the Empordà. It is very sad to see the images being shown on television. Lots of strength to all of them.
