Marc Márquez honored by CatalunyaCaixa

Yesterday the rider Marc Márquez was once again honored, this time at the Catalunya Caixa headquarters, where he was welcomed like a champion. Without a doubt, after the season he has given us in ’93, all these recognitions and celebrations are well deserved.

This celebration marks the end of the 2011 season, and Márquez takes part in it alongside one of his strongest sponsors, together with Executive Chairman Adolf Todó, Managing Director Jaume Masana, and of course Team Manager Emili Alzamora and the members of the team.

A lovely tribute from CatalunyaCaixa to its rider after an almost perfect season. They have with them the revelation of Moto2 and of the motorcycle world championship; this miracle kid will make waves in 2012.

Márquez’s statements:

We had a good season, especially the second half, where we barely dropped off the podium. In the first half we made three mistakes, which is normal when it’s your first year in the category and you want to fight with those ahead of you.

It’s a shame about the last two races, where I would have liked to race. Still, we are satisfied because we achieved the goals we were aiming for. But of course, when you see that we were competing for the Championship, you’re left wondering what would have happened if I had been able to race. But injuries are part of the sport, and now it’s time to focus on recovering well from my vision problems. I’m still seeing double, but I’m gradually improving. The doctors have already told me to be patient. What matters most is that I recover well.

I want to thank all the support received from the fans, my team and my sponsors during these days. Without being able to race the last few races, seeing how the fans and my people continue to show their support is incredible for me. I feel very loved, and that is of vital importance to fully recover physically and face the next season. To CatalunyaCaixa I want to give thanks for all the effort and dedication in the project. We form a great team, and together we will keep trying to bring joy to all the fans. And, as always, to thank my whole team for their tremendous work throughout the season.
