The British Superbike Championship held its penultimate round of the season at Silverstone Circuit, where two highly interesting races were seen, with maximum tension between Alex Lowes and Shane Byrne, leaving things very evenly poised and everything still to be decided for the final race of the year at Brands Hatch from 18 to 20 October.

The first race left us with Lowes as the winner, but with a battle to the very end that was extremely exciting. Without doubt the BSB is red-hot, as Shane Byrne, who finished second, was only +0.094s behind the leader, so the parity was extreme

A head-to-head between the championship’s dominant big names that had us on the edge of our seats, a superb race as seen at Silverstone. Both riders slowed down after crossing the finish line and congratulated each other on this race, and the crowd responded to this clash between the veteran and the young rider. With this result Lowes moved to the top of the overall standings, with Byrne right behind him.

The third place went to Tommy Bridewell, but he crossed the line more than eight seconds behind the leading duo. The top 10 was completed by PJ Jacobsen 4th, Ellison 5th, Kirkham 6th, Hickman 7th, Westmoreland 8th, Baiocco 9th and Burrell 10th.

For the second race we had the same protagonists, but even closer than in the first race, so Lowes and Byrne put on pure spectacle , with the win going to the current Champion, Shane, but leaving Alex just 0.012s behind, so the finish was reviewed by photo finish.

Byrne took charge of the race after the start, with Lowes glued to him, while Bridewell was again the third contender, but more than three seconds back. The final lap we saw at Silverstone was heart-stopping, with overtakes and re-overtakes at every point, both riders fighting relentlessly for everything, the title and the race.

Finally the photo finish announced that Byrne was the winner, but by just 0.012s, and in this way he returned to the lead of the overall standings, but with only one point’s advantage over Lowes, so the situation at the front is very tight and everything is still to be decided for the final round at Brands Hatch, two races and a title at stake.

The top 10 of this race 2 went to Bridewell 3rd, Ellison 4th, Brookes 5th, Jacobsen 6th, Kirkham 7th, Baiocco 8th, Westmoreland 9th and Smrz 10th.
