Lorenzo and Spies will debut new colours on their M1 at Assen and Laguna Seca
Jorge Lorenzo’s and Ben Spies’ YZR M1 will sport new colours at the Assen and Laguna Seca Grands Prix, as Yamaha celebrates its 50th Anniversary in the world championship. So the MotoGP championship machines will make their debut in those two races, and it will be a little strange to see the MotoGP World Champion in red and white, as well as his teammate Spies.
On 22 June, near the Assen Circuit, they will present the 50th Anniversary model. Honestly, it is a beauty, and I really liked it. If you want to see more, there is a video at the bottom.
Below you can see Lorenzo’s statements:
I love these colours, which have a real historical meaning. Riders such as Read and Agostini raced in similar colours when they won, so having the chance to use them on the YZR-M1 is really special.
It is a very special year for Yamaha, and we hope these colours bring us luck at these two races.
