Latest updates on Joan Lascorz's condition
Joan Lascorz's team has issued the latest statement on the condition of Jumbo following his accident at Imola.
Yesterday the latest information arrived on the condition of rider Joan Lascorz, who suffered a very serious accident on April 2 at the Imola Circuit during Superbike World Championship testing at the Italian track, and was subsequently taken to the Vall d’Hebrón hospital in Barcelona, where he is currently admitted to the ICU.
The team has announced that the rider will remain sedated for four more days. On Friday, April 6, doctors began to wake the Catalan from sedation, but throughout Saturday they decided to sedate him again and keep him asleep due to mucus in the lung area.
Apparently, when the doctors woke him, they found that there was still mucus in the lung, and Lascorz was also moving a lot, so they decided to sedate him again for at least four more days, waiting for the lungs to be completely clear of mucus.
As a result, the doctors have not been able to carry out the tests needed to determine the injury, its extent, and the chances of recovery, which is undoubtedly a difficult, complicated, and very hard situation for both him and his family.
In the statement, the team says:
Joan’s family, the Provec team, and the entire Kawasaki family would like to thank the thousands of messages of support and interest received from other riders, friends, the press, and fans.
The team will not issue its next statement until there is clear news about Joan Lascorz’s state of health.
From Plusmoto.com we continue to give all our support to Joan and his family. Keep going, Jumbo.
