Laia Sanz will not continue with Gas Gas and has a new project

Today we received a piece of news we did not expect: the split between Gas Gas and rider Laia Sanz. Apparently the Catalan rider has terminated her contract with the Girona brand and is no longer part of the team she was in, and therefore she will not take part in the upcoming events she had scheduled, such as this weekend’s World Enduro Championship round in Puerto Lumbreras.

According to the brand, it was Laia who decided to embark on a new path in her professional career, and therefore she is no longer part of Gas Gas, the brand with which she began her journey in January 2012 and with which she has achieved incredible results in every discipline she has competed in, from Trial to Enduro and including the Dakar.

Therefore they will no longer continue together, even though they had a contract in force that, according to the Girona brand, ran until 2014. So now we will have to see what decision the champion has made regarding her future. She surely has many projects in mind, and this goodbye may have some sporting motivation, but we will have to wait to learn more and for the news that comes from the rider, since for now we can only know what the Gas Gas brand has said about this split.

The brand wanted to thank Laia Sanz for her professionalism and dedication throughout this time and wishes her luck in the new stage she is starting, in the various motor disciplines in which she will compete.

A surprising piece of news, I did not expect it. What does seem to be confirmed, then, is that we will be able to see Sanz at the X-Games being held in Barcelona these days, so the champion will be there.
