Laia Sanz dominates the Enduro-X at the X-Games in Brazil

Rider Laia Sanz once again amazes the world at the X-Games. The Gas Gas rider took part in the Enduro-X event in Brazil for the first time, arriving eager but cautious, and in the end she was the great winner, earning the gold medal and a huge victory.

Rider Laia Sanz is incredible, spectacular, marvelous, an absolute unstoppable star, and she proved it once again at the Enduro-X at the X-Games in Brazil, where the Catalan rider, at the controls of her Gas Gas, beat all the competitors in her debut in this competition.

Moreover, she didn’t just win; she literally dominated the competition, becoming the first and only Spanish athlete so far to win a gold medal in this event. So another success for this young Gas Gas rider, who dominated the event held in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil.

Despite getting a poor start and being blocked at the first corner, the Gas Gas rider kept overcoming obstacles and rivals, passing the favorite, Maria Forsberg, in a tricky section of the course, and from then on she imposed her pace to cross the finish line first under the checkered flag, thus winning her first medal at the extreme sports Olympics, the X-Games.

I knew it would be very difficult to win a medal in my first participation. Honestly, I didn’t expect to win, especially after the start, which I didn’t do well at all, but I was able to recover quickly and settle into a good race rhythm all the way to the finish line. It was incredible, a fantastic race. I’m very happy, very happy indeed.

Now comes another new challenge: defending her world title at the start of the Enduro World Championship in the Women’s category in Puerto Lumbreras, Murcia, on May 10, 11 and 12. The downside is that the second round of the championship coincides in dates with the X-Games competition in Barcelona, which means Laia will lose the chance to take home a second medal.
