Kenan Sofuoglu triumphs in Supersport at the Moscow Raceway

Rider Kenan Sofuoglu has taken the Supersport World Championship victory at the Moscow Raceway. The Turk keeps adding points as the leader, and now he is even more so, so everything points to the 54 having a very good chance of claiming this SSP crown, although you never know what can happen in races.

The start was eventful, as rider Sam Lowes jumped the start and was penalised while he was battling with the leading group. The Briton, who was one of the riders with real chances and a favourite, had to enter the pit lane to serve the penalty, leaving everything between Jules Cluzel and Sofuoglu.

Both riders quickly pulled away from the rest of the field, with the battle for victory between them. But with 3 laps to go, the Frenchman could not keep up the pace set by the Turk. Kenan made a very strong change of pace and pushed flat out, leaving his rival behind and securing a victory from start to finish.

Behind Cluzel crossed the line more than five seconds later, after holding on for almost the entire race, while Leonov was 3rd, Morais 4th and Parkes 5th. The top 10 was completed by Foret in 6th, Antonelli 7th, Talmacsi 8th, Tamburini 9th and Scholtz 10th. Alex Baldolini on his Triumph was 11th, so he moved forward again on this machine and with the Italian on his SSP path.

There were many crashes in this round, including Metcher, Day, Lanusse, Iannuzzo, Chmielweski and Blokhin.
