Jordi Torres to replace Simeon at the Moto2 World Championship round in Catalunya
Rider Jordi Torres will be the replacement for Xavier Simeon in the Tech3 team for the Moto2 World Championship round at the Circuit de Catalunya, so on the 18th he returns to the world championship.
Rider Xavier Simeon was injured during practice for the Moto2 World Championship at the Le Mans Circuit, which led to the Team Tech3 rider having to go to hospital, where it was confirmed that he had fractured his left hand and also his left foot. As a result, he had to watch the races from the pit box at the French track and, unfortunately for him, the situation will drag on and he will miss the round at the Circuit de Catalunya.
For this reason, the Tech3 team has decided to find a replacement who can ride its machine, and they have opted for a man with a great deal of experience in this category, Jordi Torres. The Spanish Moto2 Champion returns to the Motorcycle World Championship to fill in for this round, hoping he will have more success than he did with Aspar Team in 2011.
It will be most interesting to see Torres first at the CEV round this weekend at the Motorland Aragón Circuit, and the following week at the Circuit de Catalunya for the world championship round. He will also be riding a Mistral 612, so it is something new for the 18-year-old, who is taking this new opportunity with great enthusiasm.
We are glad that they are backing a rider like Jordi Torres. He will surely adapt quickly to the machine and the team, and should be able to have a good Grand Prix at a circuit he knows very well.
Good luck to Jordi Torres in this new opportunity.
