Jonathan Rea tops the SBK 2022 test at the Jerez Circuit
Rider Jonathan Rea has been the fastest in the 2022 pre-season test of the World Superbike Championship at the Jerez Circuit.

The Jerez Circuit hosted a two-day pre-season test for the World Superbike and Supersport Championships, so there was great anticipation to see the championship riders on the Andalusian track.
A two-day test was held, with Jonathan Rea setting the pace from the moment the track opened. The Kawasaki rider managed to lap in 1:38, showing he is in strong shape to go all out in 2022. After choosing not to ride on Wednesday, Rea only took to the track from 13:00 on Thursday to complete half a day of action, but that did not stop him from going straight to the top of the timesheets, first with a time under 1:40 and finally with a best lap of 1’38.851.
In second place was Alex Lowes, Rea’s teammate, who was the fastest on the first day of testing at the Jerez track, and on the second day he moved up to second place, so the Kawasaki riders dominated the test.
Mahias was able to test physically and was the only rider present on both days of testing, so he is taking the opportunity to work on his machine and on his physical condition after the scaphoid fracture that forced him to undergo surgery before the end of the 2021 season.
The Team HRC also had a lot of work to do, as we saw Vierge and Lecuona begin their new adventure in Superbike. The hours on track at Jerez proved very valuable for the team and its two new riders, who deepened their understanding of their respective CBR1000RR-Rs and evaluated various components and setups.
The next 2022 pre-season test will take place on February 8 and 9 at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. The event will mark the return to the track of Álvaro Bautista with the Aruba. It Racing-Ducati Panigale V4 R.
On to the next SBK test.
