Jonathan Rea renews with Kawasaki Racing Team SBK for two more years
Rider Jonathan Rea will continue with the Kawasaki team in SBK

Rider Jonathan Rea has confirmed his future for the coming seasons, and has put an end to all the rumours: the great World Superbike Champion has renewed with his current team, Kawasaki Racing Team, so the duo that is racking up every record in the paddock will remain together for at least two more seasons.
The formidable partnership formed by the Northern Irish rider and the Provec Racing squad will extend for at least five seasons, as the new contract will be for two more seasons. Rea joined Kawasaki’s official squad in 2015, and the Ballymena rider and his ZX-10R instantly formed a winning package.
He won his first race with the team at the opening Round at Phillip Island and ended up adding 13 more victories that season, crowned by the world title. Unstoppable over the following three campaigns, winning relentlessly, taking pole positions and setting the benchmark of the championship.
Breaking records in more than one sense, Rea and Kawasaki have rewritten the annals of the Championship, and there is still road ahead and pages yet to be written after the renewal announced this Monday.
Rea’s statements:
I am more than happy to continue for the next two seasons with Kawasaki Racing Team. Since the end of last season we have already been talking about continuing our partnership, so it is good to have everything finalised now, so that we can concentrate on the remaining races of 2018. Since I arrived at the end of 2014 and was welcomed into the Kawasaki family, we have achieved success beyond our wildest dreams. This is where I want to stay.
Of course, it is only natural that we keep writing this incredible story together, and I want to thank everyone at the Kawasaki Racing Team for believing in me and for this opportunity. Together we will work harder than ever to keep the ZX-10RR at the front of WorldSBK in the future. I have the best team of people around me to ensure that we can keep fighting for the World Championship.
