Joan Lascorz moved to the ward and improving day by day

Rider Joan Lascorz has been transferred to the ward at the Vall d'Hebron hospital, and his recovery at the Guttmann Institute will begin once his condition has improved further.

Today, after several days with little information, a new statement has arrived from the Provec Kawasaki team regarding the World Superbike rider Joan Lascorz. Remember that unfortunately on the 17th he suffered a very serious accident on April 2nd at the Imola Circuit, during championship training sessions. After the crash he was taken to an Italian hospital, where he underwent surgery, and then transferred to the Vall d’Hebron hospital in Barcelona, where he has remained in the ICU until now.

The team has reported that Joan has been making good progress in his recovery and that improvements in his physical condition are encouraging, which has led the doctors to decide to move him to the ward in the Spinal Cord Injury Unit, leaving behind the ICU where he has remained until these days.

Lascorz’s respiratory system is much better, he is fully conscious, and all forms of artificial breathing support have been removed, a very positive step forward. He will now remain a few more days in the ward while the doctors monitor the rider’s progress, and if all goes well he will be transferred to the Guttmann Institute to begin rehabilitation and recovery.

Finally, the family, Joan himself and his team would like to thank everyone for the displays of support and affection, especially those seen at the Superbike event at the Assen Circuit. Below you can read an excerpt from the statement:

Joan, his family and the team would like to once again thank everyone for all the support and affection they are receiving, and above all to acknowledge the great work and effort being carried out by the many doctors, nurses and medical staff who are working on his recovery.

They also especially wish to thank everyone who showed their support at the Assen circuit, where all the riders wished Joan Lascorz strength, and the dedication of the two victories achieved by Rea and Guintoli.

As always, from PlusMoto.com we continue to send all our strength and encouragement to Joan Lascorz. #fuerzajoanlascorz
