JiR analyzes its championship before Sepang

The JiR Moto2 Team has two races left to earn a podium finish in the championship, and this weekend its first opportunity will be in Sepang.

The Moto2 season is nearing its end, with only two races remaining, and many of the positions at the top of the standings are still being contested.

The JiR team arrives in Malaysia with a victory already in the bag, the one achieved at Phillip Island, which closed out a great weekend for Alex De Angelis, a win that greatly strengthened the MotoBi project.

Now they arrive in Malaysia less than a week after Australia, with that victory still very fresh, which only helps the whole team keep alive the hope of reaching third place in the world championship. We are sure that they will fight until the end to reach a position that is currently only eight points away.

Alex De Angelis (#15)

It is going to be a truly difficult weekend due to the high temperatures and the high-acceleration sections, which are not exactly our strong point. Last year we had a good race, and I hope and expect we can match it this year, although unfortunately that cannot be considered a certainty.

Gianluca Montiron (Director of the JiR Moto2 Team)

The penultimate race of last year’s season showed us to be competitive, and we hope that this time we will see an ending similar to Sunday’s race in Australia. Every championship has a story of its own. The effort put in by JiR has been tremendous, both from the rider and from the team, but motorcycle racing is a sport and the values along the way can change quickly. Having given our rider a MotoBi that has won two of the three World Championship victories makes me happy. Technologically, the 2011 project began with a chassis built from last year’s experience; the Australian race showed the excellence of the project, and having fought with the leading group in the great majority of races confirms this.
