The CWM LCR Honda Team has officially confirmed the signing of young Moto3 World Championship rider Jack Miller for the upcoming 2015 MotoGP World Championship season, so the rumors have been officially confirmed.
In this way Miller will join Lucio Cecchinello’s structure in 2015 and will ride an Honda RC213V-RS Open, undoubtedly a major step up for the Australian, who will skip the intermediate Moto2 class and make the big leap to the premier MotoGP class.
Miller has had HRC’s support at all times, and the Australian has undoubtedly been one of the Japanese brand’s pet projects. Now, at just 19 years old, he will make the big jump to MotoGP. Although Jack will not be able to fulfill his full dream of riding a factory bike, he will have to settle for the Open bike in Cecchinello’s team, partnered with Cal Crutchlow, who will be in charge of riding the Honda RC213V Factory.
This is the first time since its debut in the premier class in 2006 that the team led by Lucio Cecchinello will have two riders, thanks to the support of the new sponsor CWMFX.com.
Statements from Jack Miller:
I am very happy to make the step up to MotoGP next year, especially because I will do it with HRC. This is a dream come true. I think every rider dreams of racing at the highest level in the World Championship with Honda. The step from Moto3 to MotoGP is certainly big, but I am convinced that I am ready to do it and that, step by step, learning every day, we can do a great job. It is a fantastic opportunity and I am eager to begin this new chapter of my racing career alongside HRC, to whom I must express my gratitude for their trust, together with the CWM LCR Honda Team. I can’t wait to start working with them! In the meantime, I will remain fully focused on the Moto3 World Championship. I must put aside any thoughts that distract me from the fight for the title.
