Iván Silva wins at Albacete CEV Stock Extreme
After a flawless weekend in every session, Iván Silva wins the race at Albacete, a victory that leaves him as the category leader, ahead of Santi Barragán.
The Stock Extreme race has just concluded, and the winner, as in the previous Albacete round this season, was Iván Silva. The rider of the Kawasaki Palmeto PL Racing dominated throughout the entire weekend.
There was not a single session that didn’t have his name at the top. Behind Iván came Santiago Barragán, who, despite problems with his bike, took a very big risk to secure second place, keeping him in the championship fight.
Third place went to Xavier Del Amor, who, in tremendous pain, managed to make it onto the podium, when just a week ago he wasn’t even thinking about racing.
Among the privateer riders, the victory went to Antonio Alarcos, who achieved the win. Second place went to Alexandre Praud, our friend from Racing Spirit, who carried us on his motorcycle.
These are the statements:
Iván Silva (#22) (1st)
We were able to improve the setup from the previous race, and that helped us win. We have been developing things thanks to friends at Inmotec, and it has been for the better.
Santiago Barragán (#51) (2nd)
In July I had many physical and technical problems. This was the toughest race we’ve had, and we took many risks.
I want to give credit to the team, which reacted very well. The change of fuel hurt us, and the engine isn’t running as well as before; we’ll have to improve.
Xavier Del Amor (#34) (3rd)
I defended myself, but I knew Barragán would pass me and pull away.
When Iván overtook me, I got splashed with drops on my helmet, and I thought he was leaking some kind of fluid, so I passed him again right away. When he passed me again, I thought I could get past him once more, but we would have stayed like that until the end and he would have won anyway, so I didn’t want to take the risk.
I want to dedicate the race to Dr. Mir, who helped me a lot with my injury. A week ago I thought I wouldn’t be able to race here.
Antonio José Alarcos (#53) (1st Privateer)
This is the first race I’ve finished this year, and finishing first is something I never expected.
