Iván Silva will take part in the UEM 2012 and will defend his title
Rider Iván Silva will take part in the Superstock 1000 round of the European Championship at the Albacete Circuit, where he will defend his current 2011 title.
Yesterday it was reported that former MotoGP World Championship rider Iván Silva would be present and would fight for the European Speed Championship, which will be held in a few weeks at the Albacete Circuit. He is undoubtedly one of the big favourites and will defend his 2011 title in Superstock 1000.
Silva, who has had a season full of experiences, will return to the Albacete track with plenty of energy and a strong desire to retain his current crown, his number 1, although it won’t be easy. He will be riding a Kawasaki ZX-10R within the Kawasaki Palmeto PL Racing Team, with Michelin tyres.
The only problem is that he cannot have pre-season tests to readapt to the machine he will race at the UEM. Despite this, the Catalan rider is confident he can put in a good performance and thus defend his STK 1000 crown.
Statements from Iván Silva:
I am very excited to race again in the European Championship and to do so with the number 1. After a very difficult season for me, I am eager to race here again, and what better way than with a team I know and with which I won everything last year. Furthermore, George Vuckmanovich, the technician with whom I feel most comfortable, will be with me.
It is a pity not to be able to do pre-season tests, but on the other hand I know the bike, the tyres and the circuit, so I am confident I can be competitive from the very first moment.
Don’t miss the interview we did with Iván Silva during the last CEV round at the Albacete Circuit, just after his change of situation at Avintia Blusens in MotoGP CRT was announced.
