Iván Silva honored at the MotorB bar in Madrid

Iván Silva received yesterday in Madrid a tribute for the two titles won this season, receiving a commemorative plaque at the MotorB bar in the capital

Last night we gathered at a new bar that recently opened in Madrid. A venue located in the heart of the city (on Calle Santa Engracia, 108) that perfectly combines the nightlife of cocktail bars with the world of motorsport. On its walls there is no shortage of details about great champions of both two and four wheels.

And the main reason Raúl and Ángel, the owners of the venue, brought us together there was to pay tribute to a rider who has had what is undoubtedly his best season. We are referring to Iván Silva, European SuperStock champion and Spanish StockExtreme champion.

As soon as we arrived, we found his beloved Kawasaki ZX-10R, with which he has fought on circuits. All the members of the Kawasaki Palmeto PL Racing team, who have supported him throughout this great season, were also there.

During the event, we had the chance to chat with Iván, and we asked him whether, after winning two titles and having almost certainly secured a seat in MotoGP for next year with a CRT, this was his best year:

This year has been very special for me. On a personal level, because of the birth of my daughter, and on a professional level because we have achieved all the goals we had set ourselves. I think it has been my best year, since although I had won other titles, these results mean I can spend a full year racing in the World Championship, something I have been fighting for many years to achieve and which has finally arrived.

Perhaps we’ll struggle a bit with the CRTs, as there is a big gap to the factory bikes, but as long as they don’t lap us on the second lap we’ll be satisfied (Laughs…)

Afterwards, he was presented with a commemorative plaque for his two titles won this season, and a draw was held among the attendees for a pair of gloves, a polo shirt, a jacket and a helmet.

It was a wonderful opportunity to be close to a rider who has had an outstanding season and who never stopped taking photos with everyone present and chatting with anyone who wanted to come over and meet him or simply congratulate him on his great season.
