Iván Moreno at the Moto3 World Championship with Team Machado
Rider Iván Moreno announced yesterday that he is joining the Spanish contingent of the Moto3 World Championship, so together with Team Machado he will be in the 2012 world championship on the 21st, making the big leap from the CEV.
Yesterday we saw in the lists of riders and teams registered for the IRTA Moto2 and Moto3 tests that Team Machado with Iván Moreno, which left us a bit puzzled, but we did not expect the bombshell that came in the afternoon and that delighted us greatly, since on the 21st he confirmed that for the 2012 season he would be in the Moto3 World Championship with Machado.
Until now the rider had been in the Spanish Speed Championship with Team Machado, and last season he took part in several races with Aspar Team as a substitute, but until now he had not had his great opportunity, his big leap, and finally we can say it clearly: Moreno will be in the Moto3 World Championship, and he will do so with his trusted team and with an official FTR-Honda machine.
We are very happy for the rider from Cádiz; he deserved a full opportunity, and now he has to make the most of it. For the moment he is at the official pre-season tests at the Valencia Circuit with his machine and his team.
Statements from Iván Moreno:
It is a dream to be among the best and to have the chance to fight against them. The road to get here has been hard and very difficult, but now what matters is to work hard to get the maximum performance out of the new bike. I would also like to thank enormously all those people who made it possible for me to have this opportunity, and above all to thank Team Machado for the continuity it offers me, allowing me to stay in its ranks and make the jump to the world championship.
I have a tough pre-season, but I have my head in the right place regarding what I need to do. I think we have built a very good team, both technically and personally, and I trust that everything will turn out perfectly. I am very eager to begin this challenge.
Good luck, Iván.
