Interview with Héctor Barberá at Motorland Aragón

Yesterday our colleague from Aragón Radio, Olga Torres, interviewed MotoGP rider Héctor Barberá, who talked about his expectations for this event at the Motorland Aragón circuit and how his Ducati has evolved.

-The feelings and expectations you have going into this weekend.

Well, I’m very motivated and really eager, a Grand Prix at home, and honestly since Mugello we’ve had a good line of work so far.

I have good settings, and I hope to fight to be the best or the fastest Ducati, since in the end that’s my goal, and well, last year here we managed to put together a good race. I have good memories, so I’ll go out and give it my all.

– What’s missing to turn the good practice results into race results?

I think it’s perhaps the setup. We’re working on it, and little by little it will come. Also, in the last few races I’ve been getting off to a bad start and have had to catch up during the whole race, and that penalizes you in this category; you have to get a good start in order to put together a good race, and honestly that’s going to be the goal… to get a good start so I can run a good race.

– Does this circuit suit Héctor Barberá?

There are other riders it suits too. It’s a track I like, it has fast corners, which I’m very good at, and I think they’re better for the Ducati, so…

That’s why I think it can help us.

– The perfect race for this weekend?

I think that right now I’m not setting myself specific targets. I think about enjoying riding, and that’s how everything comes, not just targets, but the race itself.
A perfect race would be finishing between 5th and 7th; those would be our goals.
