Honda will remain the sole engine supplier for Moto2
The Honda brand will remain the official engine supplier for the Moto2 category of the Motorcycle World Championship, so at least until 2015 we will continue to see the Japanese brand as the only one present in the intermediate class; after that, we will see what happens.
A few days ago it was announced that the Honda brand will remain the official engine supplier for the Moto2 category of the Motorcycle World Championship, so for at least the next three years we will continue to see this partnership.
Therefore, until 2015 at the very least, Honda will remain the engine of the intermediate category of the world championship, as it has been since the 2010 season, since from the start of this new category it has been its sole supplier, demonstrating great reliability and good results.
In short, all the machines of all the teams that will take part in this championship will continue with these engines, equipped with engines developed exclusively by the Japanese brand for Moto2 and derived from the proven-reliable inline four-cylinder of the CBR600RR, the most popular production supersport bike of the brand.
Without a doubt, this is interesting news that affects many of ours who take part in this intermediate category, and who will participate in the coming years. So far we have seen good responses from the Honda engines, they have not caused major problems, so continuity and evolution will remain the most positive path for this championship.
What do you think?
Until 2015 we will continue to see Honda in this role; after that, we will see what happens. It will depend on how these years turn out, how the machines perform, and on the comments from teams and riders about it.
