Honda celebrates 50 years in competition
The brand Honda is celebrating 50 years of Honda Racing in competition, especially now that rumors about its possible withdrawal from several categories are growing stronger, so the Japanese have made clear which disciplines they will be in and to silence all the rumors.
The priority for the 2009 campaign is to win the MotoGP World Championship title. To do so, it has bet on its star Dani Pedrosa and on the second-best rookie, Andrea Dovizioso. In addition, they are using all their technology to develop a more advanced bike to win the crown of motorcycling’s top category.
As for the World Superbike Championship, it supports several private teams with its Honda Motor Europe Ltd. (HME) structure and hopes to achieve results with its CBR1000RR and with the CBR600RR in the World Supersport Championship.
It will also be present in the World Trial Championships, where Toni Bou is its great standard-bearer along with Takahisa Fujinami, both riding Montesa Cota 4RT bikes equipped with the four-stroke engines that have brought them so many victories.
In off-road competitions Honda will also have a presence, as it will take part in the Motocross World Championship.
So Honda has decided to talk about its future, and hopes to carry out everything it has set out to do for this 2009 season.
We will keep watching Honda.
