Hiroshi Aoyama honored with the Sports Merit Award in Tokyo
Rider Hiroshi Aoyama has received an official tribute in his homeland, the Japanese rider has seen his career recognized in the Motorcycle World Championship after becoming the last champion of the 250cc category in 2009 and the only Japanese rider in the premier class.
For all of this, he has been awarded the Sports Merit Award in Tokyo, presented by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, without a doubt a fully deserved recognition for a rider who needs a lot of support and encouragement after a difficult season in MotoGP.
With this award, he is already the third motorcycle racer in the world to receive this distinction, following Daijiro Kato, who was honored in 2001, and Takahisa Fujinami in 2004.
Alberto Puig has also been honored in Japan for being Aoyama’s mentor in his early days, without a doubt the Japanese know how to value effort from the very beginning.
Congratulations Hiroshi Aoyama!
We will remain attentive to MotoGP.
