Espargaró and De Puniet will fight for the CRT MotoGP title in Valencia
The Power Electronics Aspar riders in the MotoGP World Championship, Aleix Espargaró and Randy de Puniet, arrive at the Valencia Circuit with the CRT title still undecided, although the Catalan has an 11-point lead over the Frenchman. Now we will have to wait to see what happens in Cheste, but all the fans will be with Aleix and his ART.
This weekend another great final will take place at the Valencia Circuit, and we will see who will be the world champion of MotoGP CRT 2012, a title contested between Randy De Puniet and Aleix Espargaró. The current leader of the subcategory is the Catalan from the Power Electronics Aspar team, with an eleven-point advantage over the Frenchman. So for now, our 41 is very well positioned to be the first champion, but we will have to wait until the event in Cheste to see what finally happens.
For Aleix it will be another home event, so many supporters, his fan club and all of Spanish fandom will come together to cheer him on in this intense battle he is waging with his teammate. The title is very close, he almost has it in his hands, but Aleix prefers to be cautious and keep working with the same intensity. It is going to be a very special weekend, the last event of the 2012 season, at home, with everyone and with that extra touch of the CRT crown.
Statements by Aleix Espargaró:
I am very eager to arrive in Valencia already, where I hope to give my all to finish the year well. We have had a fabulous run, we have won the last four CRT races, and we have also achieved the best lap time in training in three of the last four events. We must keep it up, we must give the final push. The Valencian Community Grand Prix is practically like a home race for me, it is my team’s home. We are contesting the CRT ‘title’ with my teammate Randy, so we must enjoy the weekend but without making any mistakes; we must keep working with the same intensity. The goal is to win again and take the first CRT ‘title’. My teammate is very strong, we cannot celebrate until we achieve it. I think that if we do, we will be fair winners because we have won nine of the fourteen races we have finished.
Statements by Randy De Puniet:
The next race is important for my team, because its headquarters are in Valencia. I hope it will be a beautiful weekend. Although I am not especially fast there, I quite like the Valencian Community circuit, it is interesting. I have heard they have resurfaced the entire track, which will surely be a very positive update, as it will now have more grip. I am already keen to ride and see the result of the recent improvements. I hope the weather is with us and we can enjoy a good end-of-season weekend. Both the team and I are very motivated for the next race; the goal will be to finish the year in the best possible way. I hope we can conclude the race as the best CRTs. It is a bit late to close the season in front of our teammate, because he has built up quite a lead. But anything can happen, so we will prepare this grand prix thoroughly to perform at our best level and close this season on a good note.
