Dany Torres triumphs at the Night of the Jumps event in Munich
The Night of the Jumps held a spectacular competition last Saturday in Munich, where we saw three of our own riders in the final: Melero, Miralles and Torres, with the latter winning the event after an extremely interesting battle with David Rinaldo.
This past weekend the third stop of the NIGHT of the JUMPS took place in Munich, where our Dany Torres was the big winner after a very interesting and exciting event. Already during the qualifying practice sessions it was clear that Torres was at a great level, dominating qualifying with a Lazyflip, Paris Hilton and an Oxecutioner, among other jumps.
Behind him was David Rinaldo, who was also in great form, and alongside them in the final were Libor Podmol, Brice Izzo, Jose Miralles and Maikel Melero. It was maximum excitement in a super final with three Spaniards, two French riders and a Czech, all of them very “powerful” riders in this discipline.
Melero finished sixth, while Miralles took fifth place, his best result of the season, with Izzo in fourth, and then the podium riders, with Libor Podmol third, leaving the fight for victory between Torres and Rinaldo.
The two riders fighting for the win gave their all. Rinaldo landed several triple combos, but Torres was at a spectacular level and answered those jumps with a Lazyflip, Oxecutioner, Paris Hilton and Barhop to Indy Superflip, winning by just one point.
With this result, David Rinaldo remains the leader of the overall standings in the Freestyle MX European Championship with 58 points, followed by Izzo with 48 points and Podmol with 46 points. Now we’ll have to see what happens at the next event, but our Torres has shown he is at a great level and is going to make a lot of noise.
