Dani Pedrosa fastest in the 1st free practice session at Sachsenring
Rider Dani Pedrosa was the fastest in the first free practice session of the German Grand Prix. The Catalan showed great competitiveness, setting a time of 1:22.521 at Sachsenring, although the real star of the day was Valentino Rossi.
The Italian finished seventh and showed a good recovery. Without a doubt, the Yamaha rider will never stop surprising experts and motorcycle fans. He also led for a few minutes, completing 29 laps and finishing just 0.723 seconds behind Pedrosa.
Behind the Catalan came Stoner, followed by Hayden in third place, while a great Ben Spies finished fourth, despite the off-track excursion he suffered at the start of the session. In fifth place was Marco Simoncelli, ahead of championship leader Lorenzo, who finished just in front of his teammate Rossi.
Closing the top ten, De Puniet was eighth, Melandri ninth and Dovizioso tenth, while newcomer De Angelis finished last, 1.5 seconds behind Pedrosa.
We will keep a close eye on MotoGP.
