Crutchlow and Lascorz the SBK and SSP pole sitters at Brno
Rider Cal Crutchlow has taken pole position for the World Superbike Championship at Brno. The Briton was the fastest overall in the qualifying battle on the Czech track, although the big surprise was Rubén Xaus, who finished in fourth place.
The pole sitter set a new circuit record, so the Yamaha rider is in excellent form and will go all out in both races tomorrow, although his main rival will be the championship leader, Max Biaggi, who starts from second place.
Behind them is Jonathan Rea, followed by the surprising Xaus on his BMW, this result being his best grid position in a practice session this season, which will surely allow him to fight for a good position tomorrow.
A little further back, Guintoli, Scassa and Fabrizio lined up, and Carlos Checa closed out that second row of the grid. From eighth place, if all goes well, he could quickly move up with the front runners.
Meanwhile, in Supersport we had a good performance from Joan Lascorz, who took pole in Brno ahead of his teammate Fujiwara. The Catalan hopes to have a good race and thus collect important points for the championship.
Behind the Kawasaki riders is the leader, Eugene Laverty, despite the crash he suffered during practice.
We will keep a close eye on the Superbikes and Supersport.
