Checa ready for the SBK tests and Badovini KO

The Ducati Alstare team has confirmed that for the official tests of the 2013 World Superbike Championship our Carlos Checa will be able to take part, after a few days of being physically unwell, while his second rider, Ayrton Badovini, needs more rest and will not be able to take part.

Ayrton medicoThe Ducati Alstare team has confirmed that its rider Ayrton Badovini will not be present at the official World Superbike test at Phillip Island Circuit. Remember that the rider suffered a fairly serious accident last Friday and had to be airlifted by helicopter to Melbourne for further medical tests and observation.

Luckily he is fine apart from the scare and the knock on the Australian track, although the pain is still very strong, so they have decided it’s better for him to rest for a few days so he can arrive at the first race of the 2013 season in the best possible condition.
carlos checa-Alstare DucatiIn principle, the team says he is feeling much better these days, but it is better for him to rest, so we will have to wait to see both Ducati Alstare riders in action. For its part, the team has also confirmed good news, as its other rider, our Carlos Checa will be at the official Superbike tests after spending a few days in hospital because of that intestinal obstruction that prevented him from taking part in this week’s private tests.

We will keep a close eye on our Checa, who will arrive a little unwell after these somewhat complicated days, since the 7 has spent several days unable to eat properly, so he has had to take things step by step to get back to normal, and this takes time, but given what Checa is like, he will be giving it full gas and fighting hard in the tests.

Best wishes to Checa and Badovini.
