Last weekend the 24 Hours of the World Endurance Championship took place at Le Mans, so the French circuit saw maximum action among the teams present at this event, and above all with an eye on the favourites to take the crown of this competition, the Yamaha Racing GMT 94 Michelin, who finally claimed the title of this 2014 season with their regular riders, David Checa, Kenny Foray and Mathieu Ginès.
The victory in France went to the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team squad, two laps ahead of the second-placed Yamaha Racing GMT 94 Michelin, while the third position went to the Monster Energy Yamaha YART.
The Suzuki Endurance Racing Team secured its first victory of the season at Le Mans, in a complicated year for them with no chance of winning the crown this year after four consecutive years full of success. However, they fought to the maximum to close the season in the best possible way, and they achieved it with Vincent Philippe, Anthony Delhalle and Erwan Nigon.
For their part, the second place went to the Yamaha Racing GMT 94 Michelin, who arrived as leaders of the provisional World Endurance Championship standings, and eager to fight for their dream. Although the start of the race was far from easy, including a crash by David Checa, they fortunately recovered and climbed back to second place. With this triumph, the Yamaha Racing GMT 94 Michelin achieves its second World Endurance Championship crown, exactly 10 years after winning the first one in 2004. The third place at this event went to the Monster Energy Yamaha YART, with riders Broc Parkes, Michael Laverty and Sheridan Morais.
Maximum action in the World Endurance Championship. From Plusmoto.com we congratulate the great David Checa, a great triumph and battle in the 2014 season.
