CEV free practice day in Valencia
The CEV has started its activity at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia with free practice sessions, which all riders and teams have made the most of, riding on a dry track, but everything suggests we will see rain this weekend.
The Spanish Speed Championship has kicked off the final round of 2012 at the Cheste Circuit with the free practice sessions held today, so there is plenty of work for all the teams and riders who will take part in this last race of the season.
With the champions of Stock Extreme and Moto3 already decided, we now have to see who will be crowned in Moto2 and the Kawasaki Ninja Cup, so this race promises excitement and plenty of action. Moreover, everything suggests another protagonist will be on track, one that was already key at last week’s Motorcycle World Championship round: the rain.
Today, during the free practice sessions of the three categories and the Kawasaki Ninja Cup, it did not rain, but the sky was very dark and it felt cold, so the track is at a fairly low temperature with forecasts of rain for Saturday and Sunday. Therefore, this protagonist could decide many things in the four races to be held in Valencia this weekend.
The first to head out onto the track for free practice were the Moto3 participants, split into two groups due to the number of entrants: group A first, then group B. This session was followed by the Stock Extreme riders, closing the morning with Moto2 and the Kawasaki Ninja Cup, following this same order in the midday-afternoon session.
Regarding lap times we cannot confirm anything, since the official timings are not published. On another note, it seems that during free practice session 1 the CEV Moto3 Champion, Álex Márquez, crashed and dislocated his shoulder. We will keep following all the information.
Tomorrow the real action begins with the qualifying practice (QP).
