Casey Stoner the best in the warm-up at Motorland Aragón
Rider Casey Stoner was the fastest in the MotoGP warm-up, in a session where the Repsol Honda riders drew all the attention with the debut of their design by Davidelfin.
Rider Casey Stoner set the best time of the MotoGP Warm-up at the Motorland Aragón circuit, with a lap of 1:49.997, on a track that is completely different from yesterday’s, as the temperature is much lower and the track is a little cooler.
Behind Stoner, Dani Pedrosa placed second again, more than three tenths behind his teammate, while Ben Spies completed the top 3 on his M1.
One of the most interesting moments of the morning was the unveiling of the Repsol Honda MotoGP team design by designer Davidelfin. After several days of waiting, we can see the team’s machines live, in Repsol’s orange and with Davidelfin’s stars.
Fourth place went to Marco Simoncelli, followed by Jorge Lorenzo in fifth, Randy de Puniet sixth, Colin Edwards seventh, Cal Crutchlow eighth, Nicky Hayden ninth and Álvaro Bautista tenth, closing the top 10.
It seems the MotoGP world champion, Jorge Lorenzo, is having problems. At least in this warm-up he has not been able to improve his times despite finishing fifth, as he was more than a second behind Stoner. However, they are now working flat out to solve this situation.
The final part belonged to Valentino Rossi in 11th, Karel Abraham 12th, Hiroshi Aoyama 13th, Héctor Barberá 14th, Andrea Dovizioso 15th, Toni Elías 16th and Loris Capirossi 17th.
The 46 went out in the warm-up with his seventh engine in his Ducati, so today the Italian will have to start from the pit lane in the race as a penalty for using more than 6 engines.
Now it’s time for the race.
