Capirossi and De Puniet to keep improving at Indianapolis
The second stop of the season in the United States for MotoGP riders arrives this weekend with Indianapolis, so the twelfth round of the premier class lands on the American track. Indianapolis Motor Speedway is one of the most famous circuits in the motorsport world, thanks to its legendary oval and the history it has in the United States and around the world.
Loris Capirossi’s best result at this track came in 2009, when he finished seventh, while Randy De Puniet’s best was twelfth. So in 2011 they will fight to improve those positions, although it will be difficult given the level of the championship.
Below you can see the statements from Loris Capirossi:
It’s not easy to face one race after another in these physical conditions. I’ve been doing therapy on my shoulder for a week. Conditions have improved compared to the Brno round, but I’m not yet at full strength.
During Monday’s test in the Czech Republic we tried different things. Now we’ll see in the practice sessions at Indianapolis, a circuit I like.
I hope it rains, it would be a bit easier to work.
Statements from Randy De Puniet:
I needed a bit of rest after the Brno Grand Prix. Now that I’m feeling a little better, I want to try to get a good result at the Indianapolis circuit.
My goal is to finish the season on a high note, so it wouldn’t hurt to finish the race in the top ten. The bike has improved, I have everything I need to get a good result, even though the Indy circuit isn’t one of my favorites.
