Canard and Morais with serious injuries after their crash at SX
Riders Trey Canard and Ryan Morais remain hospitalized with serious injuries after their crash during the AMA Supercross race in Los Angeles. For now, doctors are making decisions about both injuries and the best course of treatment.

Both riders were taken to the hospital quickly, and we soon received the first news about both of their conditions. On one hand, Morais is being treated for a broken jaw, several fractured vertebrae and some damaged ribs as well, so it was a very hard fall that left the Rockstar Energy rider badly hurt. The positive part is that his spinal cord is not affected, and a full recovery is expected.
On the other hand, Trey Canard, the rider from Honda, was also taken to a local hospital, where doctors found a back injury caused by the incident. Luckily, the young rider can feel his legs at 100%, so it seems there has been no effect on his mobility, although it is a serious injury and the doctors have to evaluate the various possibilities.
For now it seems that he has not been operated on, although doctors could decide to operate on Canard at any moment, so we are waiting for more recent information from the United States, since they may make the final decision at any time. We will keep reporting on the health status of the young rider from Honda, and we will also be watching the statements that American Honda keeps sending out.
No doubt it was a very hard crash, and there are videos of it online. In our case, we preferred not to post them given how brutal the accident was, and of course we wish Morais and Canard a speedy recovery.
Stay strong.
