Araujo wins the Kawasaki Ninja Cup at Albacete
Races in the Kawasaki Ninja Cup are crazy and anyone can come out on top. In this case, Araujo was the winner of the race at the Albacete circuit.
The Kawasaki Ninja Cup is the most closely contested category in the CEV. The races feature everyone on the same bikes, so it is very hard to pull away. That is why the races are spectacular to watch, with overtakes, slipstream battles, last-ditch braking manoeuvres and a huge amount of close competition.
First across the line was Araujo, who completed the race in 29:27.757 minutes. He was the fastest, and just 240 thousandths of a second behind him came Antonio Alarte.
Third place went to Christian Vidal, 1.872 seconds back.
In the M30 category the winner was Miguel Ángel Morales, who spent almost the entire race riding alone.
The riders’ impressions are as follows:
Adrià Araujo (#4) (1st)
I knew the tyres would be very worn by the end of the race, so two laps earlier I thought about attacking, but when I saw the backmarkers moving aside very easily I decided against it.
Antonio Alarte (#73) (2nd)
It’s a really beautiful category where we race wheel to wheel, and you end up exhausted.
Christian Vidal (#3) (3rd)
I’m training at Chicho’s school and I can tell I’ve improved a lot. We’ll have to keep training hard for Cheste.
Miguel Ángel Morales (#11) (1st M30)
First of all, I want to congratulate my fellow riders, who are going like a shot. The race was complicated because I had to ride on my own. The championship is shaping up very well for me.
