Antonio Cairoli dominates the MX1 round in Belgium

The Motocross World Championship held another round in Belgium, where Antonio Cairoli and Herlings each secured victories in their categories and showed great form on a demanding track.

Following this result, everything points to KTM winning two more titles. In Lommel, the Austrian manufacturer’s riders returned to the podium, taking five podium finishes in total over the day, including victories in both categories.

In the MX1 category, Cairoli is unbeatable. The Italian seems to have awakened at the Spanish Grand Prix and since then has not stopped delivering strong results, leaving his rivals with no chance.

Additionally, we had an initial scare with Steve Ramon’s crash, as the rider lost sensation from the neck down. Everyone feared the worst; the race was stopped and everyone was waiting for the results of the scans. Fortunately, they confirmed he was fine: he had a nerve luxation that caused that temporary loss of sensation.

Of course, this scare disrupted the schedule somewhat, with Cairoli dominating qualifying and leaving no opportunity for anyone else, a preview of what would happen the following day in the race.

As for our riders, there is little we can say. Jonathan Barragán improved in the first moto, finishing 9th, while in the second he was left out of the fight. Carlos Campano finished 19th in the first moto and had to retire in the second due to back problems.
